Happy Birthday Logan

Happy Birthday Logan! My lil monster, I can't believe you are one!

I don't think I can fully put into words what this year has been like. Despite some rough days from time to time, I've never had so much love and joy in my heart. A child definitely teaches you a special kind of love. It's innocent and pure because you don't realize when I've messed up...

Your big puppy dog eyes looking up at me...that little hand reaching out to give me a high five...your smile...how I can do almost anything to make you giggle...your laugh...walking running into my arms when you see me at the door at day care...saying "Mama"....resting in my arms...playing "chase"...tackling daddy...laying back on me while we read a book...Pete the cat...sharing snacks...Eskimo kisses..."Somewhere Over the Rainbow"...dancing in the kitchen...block towers...letting me kiss those chubby cheeks...picnics at City Park...swinging...snuggling...listening to you babble...following me where ever I go...watching your eyes, filled with wonder, when I blew bubbles (in the house) for the first time...attempting to take those cute sticker pictures every month and failing because you are always on the move...watching you explore, learn, and grow...these are just a few of my favorite memories...

If I had to describe your personality, I'd say that you are very observant, a people person, independent, explorer, lovable, intelligent, goofy, playful, outspoken, hard headed, confident, and a foodie!

I can't help but wonder what kind of adult you will be one day, and what career path you will choose. Since you love to watch daddy cook and you love food, my bets are that if I asked you what you wanted to be when you grow up, you'd easily say a chef. Grammy and Poppee gave you a small kitchen set for your birthday, and you've played with it and your pots and pans everyday since your bday.  I do know that God's got big plans for you. I just pray that He helps me let you go to do those big plans.

On Sunday, Feb. 15 at 1 pm, your family and a few friends came to celebrate you! We had a small monster bash at our home on a cool overcast day. Guest hung outside on our porch and new swing set. After eating lunch, we attempting to open presents. Momma wound up opening most of them since you were preoccupied with your friends playing with your toys - you wanted to play as well. You are very blessed my son. After presents, we all gathered around your highchair and sang you happy birthday. Once Momma and Daddy blew out your candle, we let you enjoy your very own monster cupcake. After a short hesitation, you dove right in and devoured/inhaled your cupcake. I'm never seen a 1 year eat an entire cupcake before. Needless to say, after cleaning up, you were in a bit of a sugar coma. You grabbed a blankie and walked up Poppee who was rocking in the lazy boy. He lifted you up, and you were content for some time. Once all our guests left, you took a nice nap. After your nap, you had a great time playing with your new toys - kitchen set, tool bench, farm house, and fisher price chair to name a few.

I'm looking forward in this upcoming year in watching you continue to learn and grow.

To making more memories,
-Momma
